liposuction

The saddle bags and buttocks, abdomen and waist, arms and back are the very places where the adipose tissue appears primarily, and fade away to the very last.

Liposuction - the procedure for removing local accumulations of adipose tissue through skin punctures using surgical cannulas and vacuum – allows to correct the body contours, achieve ideal proportions and eliminate excess localized fat.

Types and techniques of liposuction

Figure correction using classical liposuction is the most effective way to remove local fatty deposits; no other non-invasive technique can give the same result.

Since the adipose tissue obtained as a result of liposuction is affined to our body, this surgery can precede lipofilling, a procedure in which adipose tissue is used to correct body contours.

Liposculpture - redistribution of adipose tissue from one zone to another, when subcutaneous fat is transferred from a zone with a large volume to the zone where volume can be added (for example, adipose tissue obtained from the thigh zone is redistributed to the decollete, thighs, buttocks by injection).

The procedure can also be carried out in combination with other surgical operations, for example, breast or hip lift, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

Areas of liposuction application:

  • Belly

  • Back

  • Arms

  • Hips

  • Chin

  • Legs

Indications for liposuction

The aims of the operation are:

  • Correction of body contours;

  • Removal of fat accumulations that cannot be corrected with the help of nutrition and physical activity;

  • Removal of body fat and subsequent lipomodelling.

The procedure will not help with:

  • general obesity;

  • stretched skin;

  • correction of total excess weight, which is controlled by diet and exercise.

Liposuction of the abdomen is perhaps the most common option for surgery, but not the only one. Adipose tissue can also be eliminated from the hips, buttocks, calves, in the area of the knee joints and in the chin area.

Contraindications

Like any surgical operation, the procedure has contraindications, namely:

  • age below 18 years;

  • oncological diseases;

  • chronic diseases in the acute stage;

  • pregnancy and lactation;

  • diabetes mellitus;

  • inflammatory processes;

  • bleeding disorders;

  • psychiatric disorders.

Additional contraindications to liposuction can also be:

  • hypertension;

  • varicose veins or thrombophlebitis;

  • cardiovascular pathology.

Rehabilitation

Ater the operation the patient stays for 1-2 days in the hospital, being under the supervision of medical staff and a surgeon.

After discharge, the patient receives recommendations for care and recovery after surgery. The surgeon stays in touch with the patient, in case of complaints or questions the patient can always quickly contact the surgeon and come for a personal consultation.

For several days, edema, hematomas and pain in the operated area may persist.

Rehabilitation after liposuction:

  • it is necessary to wear compression stockings;

  • within 3-4 weeks - avoiding the bathhouse, pool, solarium;

  • for the period prescribed by the doctor, exclusion of physical activity.

Recovery after the operation courses individually, so any further interventions and methods (massage, hardware figure correction techniques) should be discussed with the surgeon first.
